HRU INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF DENTISTRY AND ORAL RESEARCH (IJDOR) (e-ISSN: 2792-0224) is the publishing arm of the Harran University Faculty of Dentistry and publishing articles covering all aspects of dental applications is an open-access, double-blind peer-reviewed, international, multidisciplinary journal. It aims to contribute to science by publishing high quality scientific articles on general dentistry and medical issues.

HRU INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF DENTISTRY AND ORAL RESEARCH (IJDOR) (e-ISSN: 2792-0224) is a free journal that publishes scientific research on clinical, epidemiological and experimental subjects, case reports/reports that is rare or includes a different treatment technique and review articles. The International Journal of Dentistry and Oral Research accepts publications from around the world. It is published three times a year, in April, August and December of each year. Articles are accepted in English and the articles are evaluated by two referees in terms of original information, ideas and presentation.

GENERAL INFORMATION
The journal is the publication of Harran University Faculty of Dentistry. Please read the explanations below while preparing an article for our journal. The International Journal of Dentistry and Oral Research publishes clinical and experimental studies, editorial articles, clinical case reports, technical and educational reviews that contribute to academic studies in dentistry and medical science.
Acceptance for publication is taken by the decision of the editorial committee and at least two referees. All publication rights of the articles accepted for publication belong to the journal. This right is determined by the signature of all authors with a specially arranged copyright transfer form. The journal is published 3 times a year. The publication language of the journal is Turkish and/or English. The articles of the submissions must not have been published in any journal before and must be original (except for oral presentations and posters presented in scientific congresses). All responsibilities (ethical, scientific, legal, etc.) of the articles published in the journal belong to the authors. Manuscripts and all kinds of attachments (photographs, tables, figures and floppy disks, etc.) that are not accepted for publication will not be returned. It is at the discretion of the Editorial Board whether to review the articles that are not prepared in accordance with the spelling rules.
PREPARING THE SUBMISSION
Manuscripts submitted for publication should be written in Microsoft Word. All text, figures and graphics should be sent electronically. Except for the cover page, the name of the institution and the authors should not be mentioned anywhere in the article.
Cover Letters
Cover letters are not mandatory; however, they may be supplied at the author’s discretion.

Parts of the Manuscript
The manuscript should be submitted in separate files: title page; main text file; figures.

Title page
The title page should contain:
i. A short informative title that contains the major key words. The title should not contain abbreviations
ii. A short running title of less than 50 characters;
iii. The full names of the authors and a statement of author contributions, e.g.
Author contributions: S.A. and I.Y. conceived the ideas; D.A. and O.F.D. collected the data; M.T. and A.G. analysed the data; and A.A. and K.B. led the writing;
iv. The author's institutional affiliations where the work was conducted, with a footnote for the author’s present address if different from where the work was conducted;
v. Acknowledgments;
vi. Word count (excluding tables)

Authorship
Please refer to the journal’s authorship policy the Editorial Policies and Ethical Considerations section for details on eligibility for author listing.

Acknowledgments
Contributions from anyone who does not meet the criteria for authorship should be listed, with permission from the contributor, in an Acknowledgments section. Financial and material support should also be mentioned. Thanks to anonymous reviewers are not appropriate.

Conflict of Interest Statement
Authors will be asked to provide a conflict of interest statement during the submission process. For details on what to include in this section, see the section ‘Conflict of Interest’ in the Editorial Policies and Ethical Considerations section below. Submitting authors should ensure they liaise with all co-authors to confirm agreement with the final statement.
Main Text File
The main text file should be presented in the following order:
1. Title, abstract and key words;
2. Main text (Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions)
3. References
4. Tables (each table complete with title and footnotes);
5. Figures legends
6. Appendices (if relevant).
Figures and supporting information should be supplied as separate files.
The manuscript part (except for the abstract, references, tables, figures and subtitles) of the research reviews should not exceed 4000 words, the abstract part should not exceed 400 words, the references should not exceed 40, the number of tables and figures should not exceed 10. Limits are summarized in the table below. Case reports should consist of the following sections: Turkish and English title, Turkish and English abstract, introduction, presentation of the case(s), discussion and references (English only for author outside of Turkey). Case reports should not exceed 8 pages in total.

PREPARATION OF MANUSCRIPT
A plain and understandable writing language should be used in the text, the writing language should be checked by competent people in English articles, a scientific writing style should be adopted and unnecessary repetitions should be avoided. Writing; It should be written in Times New Roman, 12 points, with double spacing. Pages should be numbered in the lower right corner.
Manuscripts should be uploaded to the system in 2 files.
1 – TITLE PAGE
The title of the article should not exceed 100 characters (letters) in research articles and 80 characters in case reports. The title should be written in both English and Turkish. The names and surnames of the authors who contributed to the study should be written clearly, and the number of authors should not exceed 8 in research and review articles and reviews, 6 in case reports, 6 in letters to the editor, and 2 in image presentations, excluding multidisciplinary studies. The full address of the institution where the study was carried out should be written under the articles.
If the study has been presented in any congress before, the congress name, time (day-month-year and congress place) should be specified.
The name, surname, full address, postal code, telephone and fax numbers and e-mail address of the author to be contacted should be written at the bottom of the title page.
2- FULL TEXT
The language of writing is Turkish and/or English. (English only for author outside of Turkey) The full texts to be reviewed by the referees during the evaluation process should be uploaded to the system as a single file. The full text file should be composed of the following parts and should be arranged in this order.
a) Abstracts
Title of the Article; it should be short, easy to understand and describe the content of the article. Turkish (Abstract) and English (Abstract) abstracts should have Turkish and English titles at the beginning (English only for author outside of Turkey). It should not exceed 400 words in research reviews and 200 words in case reports.
Abstracts should consist of Background/Aim, Material and Method, Result, Conclusion sections in research articles.
Case reports do not require these sections.
Keywords; At the end of the Turkish and English Abstract section, under the heading Keywords, there should be at least three and at most five keywords that capture the main titles of the scientific article and are written in accordance with the Index Medicus Medical Subject Headings (MeSH). Care should be taken to select the keywords from the Science Terms of Turkey (www.bilimterimleri.com).
All Measurements must be written in the metric system (International System of Units, SI). Example: mg/kg, µg/kg, mL, mL/kg, mL/kg/h, mL/kg/min, L/min/, mmHg, etc. Measurements and statistical data should be indicated in numbers unless they are at the beginning of a sentence. Numbers less than nine that do not represent any unit should be written in writing.
Abbreviations in the text should be explained in parentheses where they are first used. Some common abbreviations; It can be written as iv, im, po and sc.
Abbreviations should not be used in abstracts.
b) Manuscripts
Papers; It consists of Introduction, Material and methods, Results and Discussion sections.
- Introduction: Information that will explain the subject and the purpose of the study is given.
· Material and method: Place and time of research, planning the research, the materials and methods used in the study should be reported. Data collection, characteristics of patients and individuals, characteristics of the experimental study, and statistical methods should be explained in detail.
· Results: The obtained data should be given together with the statistical results.
· Discussion: The results of the study should be evaluated by comparing with the literature data.
All spellings must comply with Turkish spelling rules and must be in accordance with punctuation marks. Abbreviations should be avoided as much as possible, if the abbreviation is to be used, it should be explained in ( ) at the first occurrence. References, figures, tables and pictures should be numbered in the order they appear in the text.
c) Referances
References should be written with two line spacing. Reference numbers should be given in ( ) without a period at the end of the sentence, and the period should be placed later. If more than one reference number is given, “,” should be placed between them, and if more than two consecutive reference numbers are given, “-” should be placed between the numbers [eg. such as (1,2), (1-3)]. If the journal is used as a source: year, volume, issue, start and end pages are given. If a book is used as a source: only year, start and end pages are given. The surnames and initials of the authors should be written in the references. If the number of authors is more than 6 in the references, the names of the first 6 authors are written and instead of the names of the following authors, "et al." in English referances and "ve ark." in Turkish referances. Journal names should be abbreviated according to Index Medicus. The way of writing the reference should be like the examples below. Personal opinions and unpublished articles should not be cited as referances.
References should be arranged in the language of the article and as seen in the examples below.

d) Descriptions
Financial resources, contributing institutions, organizations and individuals, if any, should be specified in this section.
e) Tables
Tables should be written on a separate page with two lines spacing, each table should have a number and an explanatory name. If there are abbreviations in the table, their expansions should be written in alphabetical order under the table. Examples: PS: pulmonary stenosis, VSD: ventricular septal defect. Tables should not repeat the information in the text. The lines in the table should not be horizontal or longitudinal, only straight lines at the top and bottom. Table numbering (Table 1., Table 2., ...) must be sequentially numbered and Roman numerals must not be used.
f) Figures and Pictures
All kinds of drawings, graphics, pictures, micrographs and radiographs are called "figures". Figures and pictures must be named and numbered. Numbering (Figure 1., Figure 2., …) should be given consecutive numbers and Roman numerals should not be used. Images should be clear and have a minimum resolution of 300 dots per inch (dpi). Images should be uploaded within the article on a separate page. If abbreviations are used under the figure and picture, the explanation of the abbreviations should be stated under the subtitle in alphabetical order. The magnification and technique of microscopic images should be explained.
The editorial board can make any changes it deems necessary without changing the essence of the article.
COMPLIANCE WITH PUBLICATION ETHICS
It is a must to prepare the manuscripts in accordance with research and publication ethics. The authors should state that they accept ethical principles in all human clinical research and that they conduct the research in accordance with these principles. These are related in the Materials and Methods section: each prospective and retrospective study from the ethics committee of the institution where the clinical research was conducted. They have obtained consent for the study and have obtained informed consent from the persons participating in the study or their guardians; In experimental studies on animals, they have to state that they protect animal rights and that they have received approval from the relevant experimental animal ethics committee. Regarding the results of experimental studies on humans or experimental animals, it is obligatory to submit an ethics committee approval document during the application to the journal. In the presence of the author(s), commercial link or institution providing financial support for the study; used commercial product, drug, company, etc. He should inform the Editor on the presentation page how he is related to the editor. The absence of such a situation should also be stated on a separate page.
In studies that require ethics committee approval, the Ethics Committee Approval Document should be uploaded to the system during the article submission process, and the information about the permission (board name, date and issue number) should be stated in the material and method section, as well as in the explanations section after the discussion section of the article. Studies that require the approval of the Ethics Committee are as follows.
· All kinds of research conducted with qualitative or quantitative approaches that require data collection from the participants by using survey, interview, focus group work, observation, experiment, interview techniques
· Use of humans and animals (including material/data) for experimental or other scientific purposes,
· On humans clinical studies,
· Animal studies,
· Retrospective studies in accordance with the law on the protection of personal data, (If requested, the permission document from the institution where the study was carried out should also be uploaded to the system.)
In the Case Report / Case Report Series; the patient's open identity should not be shared. It should be stated that the "informed consent form" was obtained from the patient, indicating that publication was permitted.
PUBLICATION PROCESS AFTER ACCEPTANCE
EVALUATION AFTER THE REPORT OF REFEREE
Authors should write the topics that are requested to be corrected in the referee report as an answer in the answer section reserved for them. In addition, they should make the necessary changes in the article and send them again by specifying (painting) them in the article.
LAST CHECK
1. The form of transfer of copyright and matters to be notified about the authors has been filled and signed in accordance with the form,
2. The abstract did not exceed 400 words in the orjinal research article and 200 words in the case report,
3. The title is written in Turkish and English,
4. References are written in accordance with the rules,
5. All abbreviations should be explained in tables, pictures and figures.
6. The pages should be numbered in the lower right corner, double-spaced, in Times New Roman 12 pt.
Articles that do not comply with the Writing Rules and that have a similarity rate of more than 25%, including references, in the examination made with the iThenticate program will be rejected without being evaluated.

COMPLIANCE WITH PUBLICATION ETHICS
